Positive Presence’s Male Mentor Coaching Program

By Jason A. Dixon

Imagine hundreds of puzzle pieces scattered all over the floor. While looking down at the scattered pieces, there is a feeling of excitement in the air. You can hardly control it because you are eager to begin the process of completing this puzzle. Suddenly, you start feeling overwhelmed, lost, confused, doubtful, and alone because you realize that putting together the pieces isn’t as easy as you thought it would be.

The picture I just painted is one many male teens, and young adults see every day. On the one hand, they are excited about beginning this journey into a new stage of their lives. On the other hand, that journey can quickly start to feel like a scavenger hunt, a dead end, or a revolving door, especially when they feel like there is no one to support them along the way.

When we started the Positive Presence Male Coaching Program, we did it with those male teens and young adults in mind. The ones who are struggling to find motivation, the ones who want to do nothing but stay in their rooms and play video games, the ones who feel disconnected from the world, and the ones who are having a hard time excelling, be it in school, sports, or just in life.

Every male teen and young adult is at a crossroads. They are staring at the scattered puzzle pieces in their life, and they are waiting for someone to help them put the pieces together. Our Male Coaching Program helps students put the pieces together, become the best version of themselves, and win the game of life.

You may have a male teen or young adult who needs some additional support and someone not named mom or dad to help them see the exceptional qualities they possess and the greatness inside of them.

If so, we have a team of coaches ready to work with your loved one, provide 24/7 support, become a mentor, and help them reach their unlimited potential. Today’s male teens and young adults don’t need to be given the pieces to the puzzle. They need a reminder that they have support and someone to help them put the pieces together.

Positive Presence is committed to equipping male teens and young adults with the tools to put those puzzle pieces together so that they can become their best selves while creating an incredible masterpiece with their life.

Missy Vandenheuvel

Sales Manager

Missy is a revitalized mother of two teenagers who understands the resilience it takes to raise children in the midst of a global pandemic. She is a passionate mentor because she recognizes there isn’t nearly enough support for the overwhelming number of people silently struggling. Her sincere and compassionate personality is what makes her thrive as a coach and a leading member of our company. As our Sales manager she recognized that her role is to listen and learn as much about your child (or yourself) as possible. While listening, I am identifying a mentor coach that I believe your child will not only like based on their personality, but also one who has experienced and overcome similar pain points, and areas of opportunity, optimizing relatability. Ultimately, setting your child up for growth and fulfillment socially, mentally, and physically.

Favorite Mindfulness Techniques:

My Favorite Mindful technique is to Shifting Thought Patterns by focusing on the Grounding Technique. Starts with a big belly breath in. Then, you tap into your 5 senses, to quickly and effortlessly shift your current focus. Choose a sense- any sense, and count down from 5 (order or senses can be altered): 5 things you see, 4 things you smell, 3 things you feel, 2 things you hear, 1 thing you taste.

A Fun Fact:

I travel to Florida from Wisconsin 3-4 times a year, and we plan to relocate somewhere with the state in 1.5 years. I’ve been dreaming about this since I first saw the ocean at the age of 14 years old.
